Grasp All, Lose All

Grasp All, Lose All

Once, a hungry dog was wandering the streets in search of food. After a long time, he found a piece of meat. He was very happy and ran off to find a safe place to eat it.

On his way, he had to cross a small wooden bridge over a stream. As he walked across the bridge, he looked down and saw his reflection in the water. He thought it was another dog carrying a bigger piece of meat.

Greedy and foolish, he growled and barked at the other “dog” to snatch the bigger piece. But as he opened his mouth to bark, his own piece of meat fell into the water with a splash and was lost forever.

He looked down again and saw nothing. The water flowed on, and the meat was gone.

The dog sadly walked away, thinking how his greed had cost him everything.

Moral: Grasp all, lose all.
