12. A dialogue between two friends about the causes of failure in English/ the obstacles in the way to learning English.

Musfic: Good morning, Kamal. How are you.

Kamal: Good morning. I am fine. And you?

Musfic: I am also fine. Can you tell me why the students fail in English?

Kamal: The students want to pass the examination only. They do not want to learn it. Besides,

          we have no skilled and sufficient teachers.

Musfic:  How can we win the obstacles?

Kamal: The students should have determination. They should practice this language in different

situations. The govt. should supply enough materials and enough skilled teachers.

Musfic: Thank you very much.

Kamal: Welcome.

Musfic: I enjoyed much. It was very interesting and exciting. It is difficult for me to forget it. It

gives me much pleasure whenever I remember it.

Kaml: You are right. I also enjoyed it very much. It gives me much pleasure too whenever I remember

it.

Musfic: See you tomorrow. Thanks.

Kaml: Welcome.

Salesman/Ticket officer: Yes, I have. How many do you need?

Customer/ Passenger: I need 10 Pens/tickets.

Salesman/Ticket officer: Here they are.

Customer/ Passenger: How much money are they?

Salesman/Ticket officer: Fifty taka.

Customer/ Passenger: Here they are. Thank you very much.

Salesman/Ticket officer: Welcome.

Musfic:- I am also fine . How is your preparation for the S.S.C. exam?

Kamal: My preparation is good. But I am practicing more and more. I am learning many 

  vocabulary and grammatical rules. You can also follow it.

Musfic: I shall also follow your process. Thank you very much.

Kamal:- Welcome.

Patient: May I come in, Sir?

Doctor: Yes, Come in. Sit down. What is your problem?

Patient: I don’t get energy in my work. I feel trouble to take breath?

Patient: Yes, I do.

Doctor: Do you smoke?

Patient: Yes, I do.

Doctor:- Don’t you know that smoking is very harmful for heath? It causes weakness, breathing

problems and many fatal diseases. So you will have to give up smoking.

Patient: Ok.

Doctor: This is your prescription, and take this medicine regularly.

Patient: Thank you very much.

 Doctor: Welcome.

Principle:- Why do you want to arrange it?

Students: We are proud of our college it has a great reputation for arranging/staging …………

  every year. But unfortunately, for this year no such program has yet been arranged in our college. As an educated person, you know that it is not out of education. It is part and parcel of our education. In order to perform this we also need financial help from you.

Principle: Where is your application?

Students: Here it is, Sir.

Principle:- Show this to the office assistant.

Students: Thank you very much.

Principle: Welcome.

it. No nation can be developed without it. It helps us acquire knowledge and know the world. It also helps greatly to develop our country. Our country has a huge population, and it is …………..which can help them to be active.

Kamal:- (*) is a very bad habit. It cannot earn anything but loss everything. It destroys a man’s

fame and reputation. It brings dishonor to his life. Everybody hates him for this bad habit.

So we should give up this bad habit.

Kamal:- (*) is one of the greatest inventions of modern science. It has made the world smaller and brought the world within our reach. We can get any information within a very short time. It has changed our lifestyle and communication. So it is very necessary for our everyday life.

Musfic: Are there demerits of it?

Kamal: Yes, it has some demerits. Our young people are going astray. They are being affected by it day by day. Their characters are becoming bad. As a result, our society is losing its glory.

Musfic: Should we avoid using it?

Kamal: No, despite some negative effects, it is a blessing for us. The fault does not depend on

it but on the use of it.

Musfic: Thank you very much.

duty to the society. If he does not abide by this rule, there is no peace in his family or society. It is the most valuable at every step in our lives. It is the way to success in life. Everybody loves him if he possesses it. If we find famous persons, we will see that they maintained this great virtue. It is preferable to wealth.

Musfic: How can we make ourselves ready for it?

Kamal: It is nothing but metal matter, so we should have determination for it.

Kamal:- (*) is a curse for our country. It creates obstacles to the development of our country. Due to (*), we are unable to make our country prosperous. In order to develop our country, this kind of problem must be prevented.

Musfic: How can we prevent it?

Kamal: The movement against this issue must be included in socio-economic, cultural and            

Political forces. Mass media can play a vital role by creating awareness among the people. The govt. NGO’s and other organizations should come forward to eradicate it.
