Devotion to mother/ Bayazid's love for his mother

Devotion to mother/ Bayazid's love for his mother

Long ago, there lived a boy named Bayazid. He was kind, gentle, and loved his mother very much. He always obeyed her and tried to make her happy.

One night, Bayazid was reading quietly when his mother woke up and said, “Son, I am very thirsty. Please bring me some water.”

Bayazid quickly got up and went to the kitchen. But there was no water. It was very late, and all the wells were far away. Still, Bayazid took a jar and walked to the nearest well.

It was a long walk, but he didn’t stop. He filled the jar with fresh water and came back home.

When he returned, his mother was fast asleep again. Bayazid didn’t want to wake her. So he stood beside her bed, holding the jar, waiting for her to wake up.

After a long time, his mother opened her eyes and was surprised to see Bayazid still standing there with the water.

“Oh my dear son,” she said, “you are truly a blessing. May Allah give you great reward for your love and patience.”

Bayazid smiled. He was happy because he could serve his mother.

Later, he became a great scholar and saint, loved by everyone. But he always said that his first duty and happiness was to serve his mother.

Moral: Loving and serving parents brings blessings.

The Grapes Are Sour

The Grapes Are Sour

On a hot summer day, a hungry fox was walking through a vineyard. He had not eaten anything since morning and was feeling very weak.

Suddenly, he saw a bunch of juicy grapes hanging from a high branch. His mouth watered.

“Ah! What lovely grapes! I must have them,” he said to himself.

He jumped once, but he couldn’t reach the grapes. He tried again and again, jumping higher each time, but the grapes were too high.

After trying many times, the tired fox gave up. As he walked away, he muttered, “These grapes are probably sour anyway. I don’t want them.”

He left the vineyard, trying to hide his failure by pretending he didn’t care.

Moral: It's easy to despise what you cannot get.

Unity is Strength

Unity is Strength

A long time ago, there lived an old farmer in a village. He had three sons. The sons were always fighting with each other. They argued and quarreled over everything, from food to work. This made the old man very sad.

One day, the farmer became very ill. He knew he didn’t have much time left. He wanted to teach his sons an important lesson before he died.

He called them all to his bedside and gave them a bundle of sticks tied together.

“Try to break this bundle,” he said.

Each son tried hard but could not break the bundle. Then the father untied the sticks and gave them one by one.

“Now break them,” he said.

This time, each son easily broke the sticks.

The old man said, “Do you see? When the sticks were together, you couldn’t break them. But when they were separated, they broke easily. The same is true for you. If you are united, no one can harm you. But if you keep fighting, you will be weak and easily defeated.”

The sons understood the lesson. They promised their father to stay united and live in harmony.

Moral: Unity is strength.

Grasp All, Lose All

Grasp All, Lose All

Once, a hungry dog was wandering the streets in search of food. After a long time, he found a piece of meat. He was very happy and ran off to find a safe place to eat it.

On his way, he had to cross a small wooden bridge over a stream. As he walked across the bridge, he looked down and saw his reflection in the water. He thought it was another dog carrying a bigger piece of meat.

Greedy and foolish, he growled and barked at the other “dog” to snatch the bigger piece. But as he opened his mouth to bark, his own piece of meat fell into the water with a splash and was lost forever.

He looked down again and saw nothing. The water flowed on, and the meat was gone.

The dog sadly walked away, thinking how his greed had cost him everything.

Moral: Grasp all, lose all.

The Lion and the Mouse

 The Lion and the Mouse

Once upon a time, in a deep forest, a lion was sleeping peacefully under a big tree. A little mouse was running around and accidentally stepped on the lion’s paw. The lion woke up with a loud roar and caught the mouse in his huge paw.

“Who dares to disturb my sleep?” the lion growled.

“I’m sorry, O King of the Jungle!” squeaked the mouse. “Please let me go. I didn’t mean to wake you up. If you spare my life today, I will surely help you someday.”

The lion laughed loudly. “Ha ha ha! You, a tiny mouse, help me? That’s funny! But you’re too small to be my meal.” The lion gently let the mouse go.

Days passed. One day, the lion was walking in the forest when he got trapped in a hunter’s net. He roared and struggled, but the ropes were too strong. He couldn’t escape.

The little mouse heard the lion’s roar and rushed to the spot. “Don’t worry, my friend,” said the mouse. “I’ll help you.”

The mouse began to gnaw the ropes with his sharp little teeth. One by one, the ropes broke, and soon the lion was free.

The lion smiled and said, “Thank you, little mouse. I see now that even small friends can be great helpers.”

Moral: Even the small can help the mighty.
