The Grapes Are Sour
On a hot summer day, a hungry fox was walking through a vineyard. He had not eaten anything since morning and was feeling very weak.
Suddenly, he saw a bunch of juicy grapes hanging from a high branch. His mouth watered.
“Ah! What lovely grapes! I must have them,” he said to himself.
He jumped once, but he couldn’t reach the grapes. He tried again and again, jumping higher each time, but the grapes were too high.
After trying many times, the tired fox gave up. As he walked away, he muttered, “These grapes are probably sour anyway. I don’t want them.”
He left the vineyard, trying to hide his failure by pretending he didn’t care.
Moral: It's easy to despise what you cannot get.
